CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE EDUCATION DAYFollowing is the text of a letter from the Clinical Director of The Canberra Hospital Renal Service to renal patients. As part of a general overhaul of our health education approach the Renal Service is introducing a more interactive group education programme. The first session for 2010 has been scheduled for: 8.30am – 12.30pm on Friday 7th May, 2010 It will be conducted using workstations to replace the current didactic lectures. The proposed workstations are diabetes and podiatry, dietitians, home dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplant, chronic disease self-management and heart disease. Each workstation will be run by a team comprising of a professional, a patient expert and a carer. Workstations (table and chairs) for home haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, diabetes and podiatry, heart disease, chronic disease self management, transplant and dietetics are planned with health professionals, consumers and carers at each workstation to answer questions.
